Gainesville, Fla., October 26, 2017 – The Institute for Public Relations (IPR) is thrilled to announce the recent election of seven new Trustees to its Board. With the addition of these Trustees, the IPR Board of Trustees remains committed to the top research priorities of measurement standards, behavioral science, employee communications, and digital media.
The seven Trustees are:
Bill Chandler serves as senior vice president & chief communications officer for Western Union, the purpose-driven Fortune 500 company that is a leader in global money transfer services, with customers in 200 countries and territories. With team members based in Dubai, London, Miami and Denver, Chandler’s global responsibilities span all areas of external and internal communications. He serves on the Business Operations Committee for the company.
Catherine Hernandez-Blades is chief brand & communications officer for Aflac, where she oversees all of the company’s integrated corporate communications, creative and cause functions. With more than two decades of leadership experience, Hernandez-Blades is an established thought leader on corporate reputation, corporate social responsibility and communications measurement.
Maril MacDonald is the founder and CEO of Gagen MacDonald. She is a nationally recognized leader in communication, strategy execution and business transformation, having pioneered a discipline that collaborates with corporate leaders to optimize business performance.
Catherine J. Mathis serves as chief communications officer for McGraw-Hill Education, having joined the company in May 2015. She is responsible for creating and executing corporate communication strategies serving employees, media, education policy-related audiences and others. She also leads the company’s social responsibility initiatives and is part of its senior leadership team.
Jennifer Sizemore is vice president and editor-in-chief in global communications at Starbucks Coffee Company. She leads content strategy and manages Starbucks’ global newsroom, telling stories for all platforms about the company’s social responsibility initiatives, innovation and business practices.
Eileen Sheil is the executive director of corporate communications at Cleveland Clinic, one of the nation’s largest academic medical centers and named the ‘second-best hospital’ in the United States by U.S. News & World Report (2016). Sheil has worked on numerous high-profile projects that involved presidents, heads of states, innovative surgeries (first of their kind), book promotions, and international PR projects.
Chuck Wallington serves as senior vice president of marketing and communications for Cone Health, a $1.8 billion health care network of physicians, hospitals and out-patient facilities with 12,000 employees who serve a five-county area in Central North Carolina. Chuck is responsible for leading the team of professionals who develop and implement Cone Health’s marketing and communications strategy in support of the organization’s business goals.
