Sarab KocharAmong the multiple roles IPR plays in supporting research, sharing research-based knowledge is central to its mission. Each year the IPR Board of Trustees participates in our annual research symposium in New York to review and discuss research that matters to the practice.

With special thanks to our sponsors (AIA Group, Burson-Marsteller and Taylor Bennett Heyman), IPR successfully organized its first Asia Research Symposium last week. The research symposium at AIA offices, Hong Kong against the beautiful harbor line provided a unique environment for senior public relations and communications professionals in the region to discuss exemplary research completed by IPR.

A detailed copy of the program can be found here. As one of the speakers, I presented the first edition of the annual Top Ten Research Insights for public relations and communications. The program also included presentations by IPR Trustee Keith Burton, Principal at Grayson Emmett Partners, on employee communication and fellow Trustee Terry Flynn, Ph.D., Assistant Professor at McMaster University, on behavioral communications.  The event represented the IPR value in bridging the scientific rigor of academic leaders with the business- driven practicality of public relations and communications professionals.

The symposium was followed by a networking hour, which provided a forum for the attendees to further engage with the speakers and discuss research topics and insights specific to their region.
