Registration to attend the 2nd European Summit on
Measurement in Barcelona, Spain from June 16-18, 2010 is open to participants on the event website at
http://www.ameceuropeansummit.org.

The Summit is the largest event of its kind for the public relations and communications profession in
Europe. The event is presented by AMEC, the International Association for Measurement and Evaluation,
and the Institute for Public Relations (IPR).

The three-day conference is designed for communications and public relations professionals and
academics to share latest thinking about measurement and evaluation of their work. AMEC and the Institute
are partnering with the Spanish Marketing Association, DIRCOM, and the Acceso Group to present the
Summit. The Global Alliance, the International Communications Consultancy Organization (ICCO) and
FIBEP (International Association of Press Clipping Agencies) also are supporting the event.

Speakers confirmed for the Summit include: Juan Manuel Cendoya, Global Marketing and
Communications Director for Banco Santander; Prabhakar Raghavan, head of Yahoo Labs; Roger
Ormisher, Director, Global Communications, Nissan Motor Company; Antoney G. Wilkinson, Staff Director
Global Communications, FedEx Corporation; Andre Manning, Vice President and Global Head of External
Communications, Royal Philips Electronics, and Mohini Ghai Kramer, Head of Marketing Unit, the
International Committee of the Red Cross.

The Summit begins on June 16 with six workshops including these sessions led by international
speakers:

  • A Practitioner’s Guide to Public Relations Research, Measurement and Evaluation
  • How to measure ROI, Social Media and Business Outcomes
  • Bridging the Gap: what research and PR professionals’ need from each other
  • News online – an uneasy birth: The impact of content licensing

One major plenary session will be chaired by David B. Rockland, Ph.D., Partner/CEO Ketchum Pleon
Change and Global Research. It will involve speakers from ICCO, the Global Alliance, Public Relations
Society of America; the Measurement Commission of the Institute for Public Relations; AMEC; Weber
Shandwick and New York University. The aim is to create a “Barcelona Accord” of improved metrics that the
global public relations industry will support.
