6th Annual Summit on Measurement - Program Content

The 2008 Summit on Measurement will challenge delegates to think and position measurement as an integral component of strategic public relations practice. Program sessions will help conference delegates discover the latest innovations and methodologies, ponder the future of measurement and evaluation, and view case study presentations about some of the world's most successful public relations measurement campaigns.

Speakers and program topics at the 2008 Summit on Measurement on Thursday and Friday (October 16 and 17) include:

  • Toni Griffin, Director - Public Relations, MetLife and Robert Fronk, Senior Vice President, Reputation Strategy, Harris Interactive will make a presentation about MetLife's recent corporate reputation benchmarking measures that will include a look at what actions the company is taking based upon these research results.
  • David Slatter, Manager, Market Research, Texas Instruments will lead a discussion about TI' recent attempts to measure customer loyalty on a global basis.
  • Frank Walton, President, RF|Binder Partners, will moderate a panel session exploring how clients, research providers and agencies can work more effectively together on public relations and communications measurement projects. Participants will include representatives from several different pillars of the measurement industry.
  • Jim Fetig, Associate Vice President - Communications & Marketing, Georgia Institute of Technology, will present this year's non-profit program session that will feature formative and benchmark research on use of Facebook, YouTube, Social Bookmarking sites like Digg and Delicioius, and blogs. Jim will also explain how he is using these research results to create Georgia Tech's social media and traditional media strategy.
  • Leslie Tiongco, Senior Manager, Corporate Communications, McDonald's, will present Applying Qualitative Research to Internal Communications Strategy Execution.
  • This year's international speaker will be Mazen Nahawi of Media Watch Middle East in Dubai, UAE who will speak about the role of journalistic integrity in measurement.
  • And, the yet to be announced 2008 recipient of the Institute's Jack Felton Golden Ruler Award will provide a case-study presentation about this winning research project.

The always popular Pre-Conference Workshops return again in 2008 with a full-day planned for Wednesday, October 15. Offerings will include Measurement 101 for novices, Measurement 201 for those with intermediate knowledge and, for the first time this year,our advanced workshop Measurement 301. There also will be several afternoon break-out sessions and they will be announced soon.
