Reputation and Brand Management: The Role of Corporate Communications in Building and Retaining Brand Value - Dr. Elliot Schreiber, formerly the chief marketing and communications officer at both Nortel and Bayer, and now a Senior Advisor to the Reputation Institute in New York and Visiting Professor of Communications and Fellow of the Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communications at Penn State University.
The Singular Character of Public Relations - Bill Nielsen, retired Corporate Vice President of Public Affairs, Johnson & Johnson, who also held a distinguished agency career with Carl Byoir & Associates and Hill & Knowlton, explains why he believes individual character and the insistence on telling the truth, more than any specific skill or expertise, has brought corporate communications and public relations practitioners to where they are today as individuals and as a profession.
How Corporate Communications Functions and Public Relations Firms are Working Effectively Together - This panel session will feature the senior elected officers of our three co-sponsoring organizations in both Atlanta and San Francisco. Featuring, Peter Debreceny, retired Vice President - Corporate Relations, Allstate Insurance Company, former holder of a number of senior-level agency positions and Chairman, Institute for Public Relations; Ray Kotcher, CEO, Ketchum and Chairman, Council of Public Relations Firms for 2008, and Maril Gagen MacDonald, CEO, Gagen MacDonald, formerly the chief corporate communications officer at International Truck & Engine Company and the 2008 President of the Arthur W. Page Society. They will be joined in by other leaders from the corporate and agency worlds.
Inquiry at the Crossroads: A Facilitated Discussion Focusing on Everyday Trials and Tribulations of Corporate and Agency Public Relations Professionals - Dr. Donald K. Wright, Professor of Public Relations, College of Communication, Boston University and a member of the Boards of Trustees of both the Institute and the Page Society leads this program session that will involve a moderated discussion of registered participants who wish to share their stories about good and bad aspects of their jobs in corporate communications and public relations.
Effective Use of Measurement and Evaluation in Public Relations - This program session will be presented by members of the Institute's Commission on Public Relations Measurement and Evaluation that includes representatives from corporate, agency and academic public relations plus several of the world's leading research provider companies.
Examining the Impact of Blogs and Other Social Media on Corporate Communications - This program session will involve speakers from both the corporate and agency sides of the public relations business. They will discuss the role social media are having on information dissemination and will talk about some cutting-edge programs that have been implemented to accommodate this important and significant change in public relations.
The Role of Public Relations and Communications in Building Reputation and Brand Awareness - Kenneth B. Sternad, Vice President - Corporate Public Relations, UPS, will provide an in-depth look at how UPS has effectively enhanced its reputation and brand awareness through strategic public relations practice.
Practical Applications of Public Relations Ethics in the Corporate and Agency Worlds - A contemporary look at ethics in our field by Thomas R. Martin, Executive-in-Residence, Department of Communication, College of Charleston, formerly the chief communications officer at both ITT Industries and FedEx, a Past President of the Arthur W. Page Society and a member of the Boards of Trustees of both the Page Society and the Institute.
