Excellence in public relations as it has been described by Drs. James E. Grunig and Larissa A. Grunig and their collaborators remains one of the most widely read and arguably most researched theoretical models for our profession. The characteristics that the Grunigs have described as essential to effective public relations remain fundamental - if not more essential than ever. How have the principles survived globalization and the digital revolution? What principles of the excellence model are evident in communications practice today? What takeaways from the Excellence Study apply to relationships in today's 24/7, always-on world of multi-directional communication? Discussion of these questions is ideal for senior practitioners to hear how one of the most celebrated theories in public relations can be applied to the practice in today's challenging marketplace.
Drs. Jim and Lauri Grunig will deliver this third annual Grunig Lecture, co-presented by PRSA, the Institute for Public Relations and the University of Maryland.
