Chuck Wallington

Chuck serves as senior vice president of marketing and communications for Cone Health. Cone Health is a $1.8 billion health care network of physicians, hospitals and out-patient facilities with 12,000 employees who serve a five-county area in Central North Carolina. Its headquarters is Greensboro, NC, where Chuck is based.

Chuck is responsible for leading the team of professionals who develop and implement Cone Health’s marketing and communications strategy in support of the organization’s business goals. Chuck was promoted to this role in 2014. He joined Cone Health in 2011 as vice president of marketing and communications.

Prior to joining Cone Health, Chuck was with American Express where he was a vice president of communications. In this role, Chuck had global responsibility for internal and external communications for the American Express customer service centers in Greensboro, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Ft. Lauderdale, Canada, Mexico and India.

Education
Chuck earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communications from the School of Journalism & Mass Communications, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also earned a master’s degree in communications management from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Chuck currently is pursing the Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical (A&T) State University in Greensboro, NC.

Personal/Volunteer Experience
Chuck is a board member for the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro where he chairs the marketing committee. He also is a member of the United Way of Greater Greensboro’s marketing committee. In addition, Chuck is a member of the Barnabas Network board where he serves on the marketing and human resources committees.

Chuck also chairs the board of Touching Lives Foundation. He also is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., where he chairs the local chapter’s scholarship committee. Under Chuck’s leadership, the chapter has awarded more than $100,000 in college scholarships over the past 15 years. Chuck also is a member of the Sigma Pi Phi Boule.

Chuck and his wife Sandra live in Greensboro, NC. They are proud members of the St. James Presbyterian Church where they both are active in various leadership and worship-related roles.
