Adele Ambrose joined Merck in 2007 and leads the Global Communications organization. She is responsible for the company’s internal and external communications with key audiences such as the news media, employees, the financial community, other specialized stakeholders and the general public. Her organization develops and implements communications strategies that enhance and protect the company’s image and reputation, and support Merck’s business strategies. In addition to providing counsel on communications matters, Adele’s team manages product public relations, corporate and divisional communications, including corporate channels such as merck.com and corporate advertising, and executive and shareholder communications.

Prior to joining Merck in 2007, Adele was a corporate officer and executive vice president, public relations & investor communications, for AT&T Wireless, a newly public company with 21 million customers. In that role, Adele developed a broad public relations strategy to support the new company’s business priorities, and position it effectively through a major communications and brand advertising campaign.

Prior to joining AT&T Wireless in 2001, Adele was vice president of public relations and corporate media relations at AT&T. She also served as the company’s chief spokesperson for nearly 10 years, handling high-profile corporate restructurings, CEO transitions, business divestitures and acquisitions.
